The Soda Factory was a small skateboard company that is always pushing the limits of skateboard design. The “Born to Hula” was a groundbreaking board that set a new standard for technical design and machining in skateboarding. It is a short wheelbase, top mounted, directional speedboard that uses “bacon concave” which allows proper pressing for a board with rocker-concave by creating relief bends along the rail of the board. This particular way of pressing also creates little “nooks” for the riders feet.
Another key feature to this board are the wedges cut into the bottom of the deck. These slots are there to neutralize the additional wedging of the trucks that is created by rocker over the length of the board.
The wedges not only neutralize the trucks angles but also allow for a slightly lower ride for a top mounted board while keeping its full range of control and functionality.
